From Little Things Big Things Grow...

In 2022, Em Dieters won the ISA World Para Surfing Championship in Women's Prone 2 (Prone Assist) at Pismo Beach, CA. This remarkable achievement came after only a handful of times in the water since acquiring her Spinal Cord Injury (SCI). Her very first competition was the Australian Championships, followed by her second ever comp at... you guessed it, the World Championships!

The following year, in 2023, Em continued her extraordinary journey by winning the ISA World Para Surfing Championship in the Women's Prone 1 (unassist) classification. This victory showcased her incredible progress and solidified her status as a leading figure in para surfing.

It was this meteoric rise that triggered the thought: where does this pathway to success begin? Not everyone is comfortable diving headfirst into the national and international competitive scene. It was with this curiosity and her connection with Mona Vale Boardriders Club that Em, along with a few core Northern Beaches para surfers, decided to kick off a revolutionary concept. They envisioned a standalone Para Surfer Boardriders Club that would integrate seamlessly with the local mainstream club. This approach fosters an instant and inclusive community where para surfers are welcomed, supported, and mentored by experienced members. The club provides a safe and encouraging environment for individuals with disabilities to learn, progress, and potentially discover their own competitive aspirations.

By joining our journey and supporting our merchandise, you're not just helping these Para Surfers here on the Northern Beaches, you're contributing to the growth of a movement. This model can be replicated in communities worldwide, paving the way for a future where para surfing is accessible and inclusive for all.
